International Boarding School

Ten questions for our notable alumna Mariella Clerico

1) What have you been up to since you left Rosenberg?

Since I left Rosenberg I obtained my bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration at The American University of Paris and right now I am writing my thesis for my Master’s degree in sustainability! Tough times!

2) What was the best thing about your time at Rosenberg?

Ah! It’s hard to choose the best thing about Rosenberg! I have at least 20 different answers, but if I have to pick a couple, the best thing about my time at Rosenberg are the friendships I made. Even though we do not see each other much, each time that we meet its like nothing ever changed… At the end of the day we grew up together going through the same challenges and the same accomplishments. Another thing worth mentioning is the diversity of the school. There are some things you just can’t learn from books.

3) Which is your favourite city?

Rosenberg made us international. Having made friends from all over the world, I bet at least 90% of the students who have graduated from Rosenberg live life on a plane. Choosing a single city is hard, too many perfect memories here and there. However, I’m a beach person, I love the heat (I had enough snow in the RB years ). However, I also I find city life fascinating, and I like the idea of having everything at disposal 24/7. Therefore my choices are Dubai and then Miami.

4) What is your favourite spot to hang out?

I can only think of my last weeks in Paris, the afternoons spent at a typical French café, munching on croissants, writing papers… Homework isn’t so bad with the view of the Eiffel tower.

5) Which place that you have never been to, is on top of your list to visit?

Australia!! Please someone give me time to visit! It just seems so fascinating, and the fact that you can’t reach it quickly makes you expect so much from it.

6) Looking back at your own school time, what advice do you have for current Rosenberg students?

Enjoy and take pictures! Sometimes I get very nostalgic and I try to find photos from my years at Rosenberg and then I realize that the only ones I have are already printed and framed. Even though I don’t have many pictures, I remember exactly how I felt when I stepped on the Rosenberg grounds for the first time almost 10 years ago. An unforgettable and indescribable feeling making me proud of being a RB alumni.

7) Which person inspires you?

Honestly, anybody who is happy inspires me. It is very hard to feel truly happy and spread the happiness to others with our everyday worries. I believe it is very admirable when one can shine even under the rain.

8) What is precious to you?

Time. Time is the most precious thing you can have and the best present that one can give you. They cannot take it back.

9) What are your projects for the future?

I am currently looking into MBA programs, while I try to set up my own business.

10) Complete this sentence: "To learn to live is…“

To learn to live is to appreciate every day that you are above ground, to not let negativity affect your happiness and to get as much as possible of what money can’t buy!
